Aladdin’s Iago Has Found His Voice in Alan Tudyk

Iago has found his voice. Disney has cast Alan Tudyk as the voice of Jafaar’s sidekick parrot. In the original animated feature version of Aladdin, Gilbert Gottfried voiced Iago.  This live-action remake of Aladdin will be arriving in theaters on May 24th.

Tudyk has become a regular in Disney movies appearing in 6 others to date. Most of these have been animated features but he also appeared as K-2S0 in a Star Wars film. Here are The Walt Disney Company movies he has appeared in:

  • Wreck-it Ralph
  • Frozen
  • Big Hero 6
  • Zootopia
  • Ralph Breaks the Internet
  • Solo: A Star Wars Story

In this version of Aladdin, Will Smith is portraying the Genie; Mena Massoud portrays Aladdin; Naomi Scott plays Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari is Jafar; Navid Negahban is the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad is Dalia and Billy Magnussen is Prince Anders. Disney’s live-action Aladdin is being directed by Guy Ritchie.
