As we inch closer to the release of Episode IX, it marks a lot of lasts for the newest trilogy. Today, we learned, marked yet another final moment for the cast and crew. According to a tweet from JJ Abrams, photography had officially wrapped on the Star Wars trilogy.
The crew, which has been together since 2014, has had a very full five years full of storytelling and adventure. From just looking at John Boyega’s Instagram story, you can tell the cast has become a real family. The day has been full of wrap gifts between cast members, with Boyega even receiving a blaster from Kathleen Kennedy. With JJ Abrams and Boyega sharing the heartfelt sentiment towards leaving the trilogy, it is hard not to feel your heartstrings being pulled!
Though it is sad to see the filming wrap on Episode IX, we still have so much to look forward to with Star Wars this year! The film, which has yet to have a name released, is set to release at the end of the year on December 20. There have not been any promotional images, trailers, or teasers dropped since we learned that production started in August. We are sure that it is only a matter of time until we learn what could possibly come from the galaxy far, far away!
