Wetzel’s Pretzels has re-opened in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. During a ceremony that included a giant wall pretzel game, a deejay, festivities, and of course pretzels, the renovated flagship store returned to the Disneyland Resort.

This flagship store in Downtown Disney is inspired by the looks and feel of California with a modern, upscale look that is both covers both the inside and outside. Wetzel’s commissioned two local artists, Trek Thunder Kelly, and Dan Medina. Kelly painted a mural that wraps around the inside of the store that features images of Pasadena. This is where Wetzel’s hometown is. There are 12 hidden pretzels in the store. Medina designed custom door handles that make a pretzel with both doors are closed.

Wetzel’s Pretzels offers multiple variations on tasty treats that include pretzels, Wetzel’s Dogs, Bitz, and fresh and frozen lemonade. The pretzels are made from scratch daily. The pretzels are made from basic ingredients of flour, filtered water, yeast and a touch of salt. It is the same way they have been made for the last 25 years.

The re-opening of Wetzel’s Pretzels is just one of the many new updates that have come to the Downtown Disney District recently. In the last year, Splitsville Luxury Lanes, The VOID, The Disney Dress Shop, Salt & Straw, a reimagined World of Disney store and the new Napolini have all arrived along the promenade. There are more exciting options still on the way, though! They include Naples Ristorante e Bar, Ballast Point brewery and Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes!
