Shanghai Disneyland has officially unveiled its Disney-Pixar Toy Story Land. On Thursday, April 26, the expansion to Shanghai Disneyland opened to the public. This is the first expansion to come to the newest Disney theme park. It is the seventh land to be found at Shanghai Disneyland.
“We’re incredibly proud of the success of this one-of-a-kind, world-class destination, and we are thrilled to give our Chinese guests even more to explore and enjoy at the resort with the addition of a spectacular new land based on Pixar’s beloved Toy Story characters,” said Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
Toy Story Land shrinks guests to the size of toys to experience this vibrant and colorful new land. There are three new attractions that can be found here. They include Slinky Dog Spin, Rex’s Racer and Woody’s Roundup. There are also opportunities to interact with their favorite Disney-Pixar characters at Meeting Post, shop at Al’s Toy Barn and dine at the Toy Box Café. This new land is a perfect home for Woody, Buzz and the rest of their Toy Story pals.
It isn’t the first Toy Story offering to be found at the Shanghai Disney Resort though. It joins the Toy Story Hotel, the only hotel globally that is themed specifically around Toy Story. Shanghai Disney Resort also is home to Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue at Shanghai Disneyland. This is the most advanced Buzz Lightyear targeting system that can currently be found at any Disney theme park globally.
