Hurricane Irma has now come and gone to the Walt Disney World Resort. This storm, one of the strongest ever to hit the Atlantic Ocean, ended up leaving substantially less damage in its wake in Florida than anticipated. It passed over Orlando and the Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney World Resort closed its theme park gates but kept the hotels operating and took excellent care of those staying on property. The result was a magical experience in a terrifying situation for many as characters entertained through the storm and Disney offered its best hospitality in the less-than-best scenario.

As can be seen, a bulk of the damage was due to trees being blown over. Thankfully it appears that a bulk of the structures were spared. Walt Disney World’s theme parks are re-opening on Tuesday August 12, 2017. Share your stories and experiences from Hurricane Irma in the comments section below!
