Star Wars Celebration has come and gone again, this time in Orlando, Florida. It was a weekend full of Jedi, Sith, Storm Troopers, and of course bounty hunters. Really though, it was a weekend that both celebrated the past 40 years of Star Wars while also looking to the future! And the future of Star Wars is looking pretty awesome! While the entire Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 was awesome, here are some of the top highlights of the weekend:
Carrie Fisher
Carrie Fisher may not have been at Star Wars Celebration but she was most certainly still there. The princess of Star Wars was referenced multiple times throughout the weekend and was on the hearts and minds of all in attendance. An absolutely beautiful tribute video was played throughout the weekend and Mark Hamill led a wonderful tribute to Carrie Fisher as well. Carrie Fisher’s legacy will continue to live on forever in the Star Wars universe. She was quirky, spunky, and unabashedly herself. She will be missed.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Teaser
Perhaps one of the most highlight anticipated events of Star Wars Celebration Orlando, the teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi gave a hint at what is to come. What this movie means for the future of the Jedi is now being debated across the galaxy. What will become of the characters both new and old to the Star Wars universe is also greatly in question. December can definitely not come quickly enough for Star Wars fans though!

Star Wars Rebels
The animated series Star Wars Rebels seems to be getting more and more popular. Executive Producer Dave Filoni was popping up everywhere and was easily one of the more popular people on hand at Star Wars Celebration. The future of Star Wars Rebels will be short lived as it was announced that the show will just have one more season. However, this season looks to be awesome. More connections with the various Star Wars movies and characters will be made. The stories of the crew of the Ghost will be explored more deeply. What the fate of all of them ends up being will be left to season four to answer. Judging by the trailer though… it will be an awesome season!

Star Wars Legacy & John Williams
The Star Wars legacy was shared quite a bit this weekend. Celebration began with the 40 Years of Star Wars panel that dove into 40 years of the galaxy far far away. Several of the remaining principle cast members from the original Star Wars trilogy were on hand as were some newer cast members. Memories were shared about the last four decades that wrapped up in a touching tribute to Carrie Fisher. The tribute ended up with a surprise performance by John Williams and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra as they played Princess Leia’s Theme, the main Star Wars theme, and The Imperial March. It was an absolutely incredible way to start Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 and seeing John Williams grin as the crowd reacted to The Imperial March was priceless!
