First Trailer For Spider-Man: Homecoming Released

Marvel and Sony has released the first official trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming which will star Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, and Robert Downey Jr. among many others.  The trailer indicates the film will show the balance between Peter Parker’s school life and struggle as a super hero, especially wanting to be on the same level as the Avengers.  Tony Stark seems to have a very prominent role in the movie, as he is featured in quite a bit of it, including a small scene at the end as Iron Man.  Whether he will be throughout the film or in a smaller role is yet to be seen.  There is much to be seen of The Vulture, the main big bad of the movie, who is played by Keaton.  Another character shown in the preview is Ned Leeds played by Jacob Batalon.  He appears to be Peter’s high school buddy, and it’s already shown that he will discover Peter’s secret of being Spider-Man.  There are some geek out moments for Spider-Man fans already.  “Web wings” is a seen element.  Spider sense seems on par with the comic books.  And, it’s great to see the animated eyes that show some emotion while Peter has the mask on.

In all, this looks to be a terrific film with heart and humor.  The Vulture looks to be a formidable foe.  But, it looks like it’ll have a relatable inner conflict within Parker and his being a hero.  I’m delighted to see Tony Stark have a budding relationship with the young hero.  It’s something not seen for the character and really any Marvel film yet.  I think this will be a very different super hero film from the other Marvel Studios movies thus far.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will premier in theaters on July 7 in 2017.  There’s bound to be more teasers, trailers, and tv spots leading up to the release.  The trailer is below, and let us know what you think of it!
