A beautiful morning overlooking a peaceful body of water is one of the nicest ways to get a day started. By the second day at Walt Disney World I had decided that, while the pirate themed rooms might be a bit much, I really liked the overall experience of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
Our second day was to be spent at the Magic Kingdom we decided. Having been to Walt Disney World a few times, this trip we really were focusing on being laid back and not over-planning. We did have a reservation for Be Our Guest on Saturday but for the most part, we were keeping things incredibly flexible and relaxed.
It was an absolutely beautiful day. It ranks in the top ten beautiful days I’ve experienced in Florida. It wasn’t too hot, it wasn’t too humid, and the day was simply gorgeous. The day began by enjoying the lovely views of this almost spring morning, Starbucks in hand. Then, it was time to go for a ride aboard the People Mover. This was followed by some comedy lessons from the good monsters of Monsters, Inc. and their Laugh Floor. After this, we made our way over to check out the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was easily a highlight of the day. I will admit, I went in a bit skeptical. I had heard good things about it but it was a bit hard for me to imagine it having the level of magic that it does indeed have. It tells the story of Snow White from the perspective of the Seven Dwarfs. It does so very effectively, although not as clearly perhaps as the original attraction that told this story. The attraction was smooth, fun, and the side to side motion was surprisingly exciting. I definitely look forward to my next ride aboard this one.
Once we disembarked from the mine train, we did some strolling. Eventually, we made our way to the Country Bear Jamboree. This is a classic and one of my favorites. It was as enjoyable as ever and just like the last time, I wish it were the older longer show. I am thankful that that there is still a show at all though!
The next surprise of our day was the arrival of the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party. As we wandered past the castle and took some pictures, the music began and we soon found ourselves surrounded by this street party. It was a lot of fun and the interactive element of using live tweets and Instagram photos were fun to see as well. I really did not expect to like this one as much as I did. However, the energy of all involved really made for an enjoyable experience.
As dusk turned to evening, we grabbed dinner at Casey’s Corner before hitting Mickey’s PhilharMagic Concert and the Haunted Mansion. Then we came out just in time to get an incredible spot for the first Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade of the night. All of these are favorites and were a blast to get to experience. It made for a very relaxing evening and quite a few fun photos as well.
Our second day at Walt Disney World was surprisingly relaxing as we just enjoyed the magic that Disney has to offer. This really is the way to do Walt Disney World. Oh, and I discovered that I really like the dining plan on this trip as well. What is your favorite part of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World?
