The Disney Legends Awards were held at this year’s D23 Expo. The occasion that celebrates the work of people from all over the Walt Disney Company was hosted by Disney CEO Bob Iger.
The first large presentation to be held in Hall D23 of the D23 Expo 2015 had been filled with many in attendance. D23 members from all over the world, past Disney Legends, Disney executives and more, all attended this memorable event.
George Bodenheimer, Andreas Deja, Eyvind Earle, Danny Elfman, Susan Lucci, George Lucas, Julie Reihm Casaletto, Carson Van Osten and a surprise addition of Johnny Depp, were all inducted as Disney legends.
Iger said in his opening statement, “I have the happiest job on Earth. Walt would be so proud of everything The Walt Disney Company is doing today.”
A brief video clip was presented before each Disney Legend was inducted. These clips laid out a background of what each person accomplished and contributed to the Walt Disney Company. In addition to video clips, a remembrance video of all the Legends that were lost in the past two had been played to honor those great lives.
Special musical performances and acts were also presented during the two hour long ceremony.
These nine wonderful people now join 249 others that have been named Disney Legend, according to D23.
