This musical was based on Victor Hugo’s book, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” and the 1996 Disney animated classic. The production was said to be a “dramatic retelling of the famous love story on a grand scale, with a lush, emotionally rich score.” On top of that, music and lyrics from Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz helped bring the story to life.

On Page’s Facebook, he shared this update, “Hey folks–‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ is not transferring to Broadway. If you want to see Michael Arden give a performance for the ages there are two performances Easter Sunday and that’s it. Don’t miss it.”

With this huge announcement, theater fans have rallied up a petition in hopes of bringing this musical production to Broadway. With the petition launching on April 6, there are already over 2,700 signatures. If you would like to check out the petition, please click here.

Currently there is no comment from Disney Theatrical Productions.
