New Images and Trailer Released for Charlie Brown Movie: PEANUTS

When a Charlie Brown movie was announced, the big question for many fans was how would this simple classic character translate to a very modern and technologically advanced? We now have an answer to that question. Here is a look at Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang from the upcoming movie entitled Peanuts.

Great lengths were taken to create a timeless classic that isn’t too modern or too old fashioned. Instead, the focus is on what has always made the Peanuts gang relatable. Peanuts will be about a boy with endless optimism and hope who consistently runs into roadblocks. Charlie Brown’s search for something better will reveal that maybe things are ok as they are.

Here’s a look at what Charlie Brown and the gang will look like in 3D for Peanuts:

Peanuts Synopsis:

In PEANUTS, a 3D, CGI animated comedic adventure, Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace! – embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his team take to the skies to pursue their arch-nemesis, while his best pal Charlie Brown begins his own epic quest back home.

Peanuts hits theaters in 3D on November 6, 2015.

So what do you think?

I’m rather impressed with how the production team re-created Charlie Brown and the gang. It has a more modern look while retaining that classic feel. For me personally, Charlie Brown should always look like the Charlie Brown from the comic strips or as found in those original Halloween and Christmas specials. However, this looks pretty darned good. They are clearly the same characters we’ve known and loved from Charles M. Shulz without adding too much texture or realism. I think the creative team has done a decent job of creating a modern look that will hopefully appeal to a whole new generation of fans. Questions could be asked about going for a more stylized look on one end of the spectrum or a more polished look on the other, but this is probably a happy medium.

As for the trailer itself, I am quite encouraged by it. Once again they walking that fine balance between new and old while also creating something that they hope will be timeless. I found it to be entertaining and strike the right tone that will hopefully appeal to new and old generations. I wasn’t such a huge fan of the Paris portion as the Peanuts have always lived in an idealized world I feel… however, that is nitpicking. I found the gag in the trailer to be funny and it left me wanting to see more. I’d say that is a successful trailer!

Make it a GREAT day!
