The Disney Animation Studios have announced that a new short based on the hit movie Frozen is in the works. Entitled Frozen Fever, this short should be released sometime in the spring of 2015.
Directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and Oscar-winning composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are reuniting with producer Peter Del Vecho to create this short. Frozen Fever will also include an all original song.
The announcement was made during ABC Television Network’s special “The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic,” on Tuesday September 2, 2014.
In Frozen Fever, it is Anna’s birthday and Kristoff and Elsa want to do something special for her. While everyone knows about Elsa’s powers now, she still doesn’t know how to control them completely. This creates conflict that could put the whole party in jeopardy.
While it is known that Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf are all returning it is unknown if their original voices (Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad) will be returning.
It is currently unknown when exactly this short will be released and with what movie (if any). It’s just known that it will be released in the spring, and not the summer (sorry Olaf) of 2015.
