Guests enjoying Mickey and the Magical Map on Thursday November 21, 2013 may have noticed a few changes in the show. The first and most dramatic was that Stitch now joined the cast during the Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride segment of the show. The second change came at the end of the show after Mickey Mouse had been made a map-maker. He now closes the show wearing the suit of a map-maker instead of his sorcerer’s robes.
Mickey as a Map-Maker in Mickey and the Magical MapVideo of the first Mickey and the Magical Map show with the new changes:
Mickey and the Magical Map tells the story of Mickey who now wants to be not only a sorcerer, but also a map-maker. It is a musical montage of Disney memories as Mickey Mouse takes it upon himself to paint a spot on the map in pursuit of his dream. Along the way he learns something about identity and Yensid eventually makes him a map-maker. This musical show includes the music of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Fantasia, I Wanna Be Like You from The Jungle Book, Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas, Reflection from Mulan, I See the Light from Tangled, Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid, Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride from Lilo & Stitch, and Dig a Little Deeper from The Princess and the Frog. The show concludes with a song called Journey to Imagination. It runs a little over 20 minutes and plays several times a day in the Fantasyland Theatre at the Disneyland Resort on most days. Check a park times guide for specifics.
