There will be a new adventure to experience at Disney Adventure World in the near future. Guests visiting the second park at Disneyland Paris recently have seen that the Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings are coming together. This attraction is inspired by Disney-Pixar’s Up. It is set to open in 2027 along Adventure Way at the park. As the attraction is being installed, Disneyland Paris has shared a look at the work being done.

Work has been going on at this site for months. Recently, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams brought a new element to the construction site. This is the central column for the Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings. This attraction is a flying chair carousel, much like the one found at Disney California Adventure and its Silly Symphony Swings. The new column now towers above Adventure Way. This is the centerpiece of the attraction and supports the entire installation. Disneyland Paris shared that it stands 12 meters high and weighs 22 tons.
“This sort of operation is always tricky, given the large components that need to be installed; especially since this particular project involves numerous highly detailed decorations that we have to handle with care,” explained Timothée Pons, Ride Project Engineer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.

As can be seen in the photos that were shared by Disneyland Paris, the attraction is really beginning to take shape. Along with the structure coming together, the first themed elements are also being installed around the central mast. This includes hand-painted murals that depict a blue sky that is dotted with clouds. Russell and Dug from Up can also be seen floating into the sky with the help of colorful balloons. Underneath the canopy, hundreds of brightly colored balloons will be hanging. Guest seats will hang from these. The exterior of the canopy will feature 16 decorative panels that showcase a unique graphic design that is composed of stylized clouds, a starry sky, and touches of gold. On top of that, quite literally, the roof will be adorned with a golden finial that depicts Carl’s house being carried by a cluster of balloons. This will echo the silhouette of Pascal on the roof of Raiponce Tangled Spin, which faces Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings.

This is an important milestone in the construction of this attraction at Disney Adventure World. There are still many elements that need to be completed. This includes getting the set pieces that are currently being built installed into the queue. Once everything is installed, Imagineers will carry out tests ahead of the attraction’s opening. Disneyland Paris shares that there will still be some time to wait before this opens but promises that once it does, it will become a classic attraction for this park.
