The first Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is set to kick off the series of Halloween parties at Disney California Adventure starting August 18, 2026. When it does, one of the characters that will be on hand is Yzma from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Emperor’s New Groove. This character’s location has been seen by guests visiting Disney California Adventure just behind the big bear of Grizzly River Run.

Yzma has appeared previously in different events, but not as a face character. Last year, she appeared during a special after-hours event at Destination D23 at Walt Disney World Resort. Before that, she appeared at Disneyland After Dark: Villains Nite in 2022.

Ahead of the first Halloween party of the year, Disney has released a video showing what Yzma will be like when guests stroll through this treat trail. Check it out here:

Yzma will be one of many Disney villains that guests will be able to see and interact with during the Oogie Boogie Bash. Other villains include Ernesto de la Cruz from Pixar Animation Studios’ Coco and Hades from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Hercules. This year will also see the debut of Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party. This is a new entertainment experience based on the beloved Disneyland attraction.

Daps Magic will be covering the opening night of this party, where Yzma will be making her first public appearance. Tickets for multiple nights of the Oogie Boogie Bash are currently available on the Disneyland website.
