Underneath Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant at Disneyland Paris, there is a sleeping dragon… most of the time. On the Disneyland Paris website, a warning is shared about this dragon, which says: “Once the ruler of the skies, this defeated dragon lies chained against jagged rocks. It may be dozing, but tread carefully, as one false move will lead to a hot, rumbling surprise.”
For those who are new to visiting Disneyland Paris, discovering this dormant dragon can be a magical surprise! Some people walk by it on their way to attractions deeper in the park. Those who venture underneath the castle to this dark dungeon discover a dark magical adventure with this dragon. This dragon is roughly 79 feet (24 meters) long from head to tail. When the park opened in 1992, it was the largest audio-animatronic figure ever constructed by Walt Disney Imagineering. It is worth taking a few minutes out of your day to experience this!
