For those who have been watching social media recently, it comes as no surprise that Happy Ice is coming to the Disneyland Resort in the Downtown Disney District. In a post on social media, it was revealed that a new cart will be opening this month. Today, it was revealed that Happy Ice will be opening in Downtown Disney District on June 19, 2026, or Juneteenth. The opening on Juneteenth adds special significance, celebrating progress, joy, and community. These are values at the heart of Happy Ice.
Happy Ice is a Los Angeles-born, Black-owned premium Philadelphia Italian ice brand that was founded by Lemeir Mitchell. It is known for its fruit-forward flavors and handcrafted frozen desserts. The opening of this business makes it the first Black-owned dessert company to be permanently in the Downtown Disney District.
On the opening day, as part of the celebration, the first 50 guests will receive a Happy Ice T-shirt. The next 50 will receive a tote bag. The cart will be open each day from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Happy Ice boasts a fully all-natural menu. It features handcrafted Philadelphia water ice made with real fruit, pure cane sugar, and premium ingredients. It will also offer the new JOY-LATI layered dessert. This combines Italian ice, vanilla sweet cream, sauces, and fresh fruit, with nostalgic flavors like Banana Pudding and Strawberry Shortcake.
