Figment Cartoon Comes to Life in New ‘How NOT To Draw’ Short

A new episode of How NOT To Draw has been released on YouTube. In it, a cartoon version of Figment comes to life. The short is narrated by Neil Patrick Harris, who is joined by Figment (voiced by A.J. LoCascio). Together, they use imagination and are inspired by items in the room to create different drawings. This is a charming short that feels very true to Figment’s attraction at EPCOT. There are also some nods to the attraction that can be found throughout the short as well.

A Brief History of Figment

Figment has been a favorite of fans since he debuted in EPCOT on March 5, 1983, in the Imagination Pavilion. Originally, he was found in the Journey Into Imagination attraction. This attraction remained until 1998. It was then replaced briefly by Journey Into Your Imagination. This version of the attraction did not have Dreamfinder in it, and Figment had a much smaller role. Fans were not happy with this version. It was soon replaced by the current version of the attraction, Journey into Imagination with Figment. Through the years, Figment has become an unofficial mascot of EPCOT. He is also the face of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Today, Figment is more popular than ever.

The Voices of Figment

Through the years, Figment has had several voices. Originally, he was voiced by Billy Bart. Corey Burton then took on the role. He was followed by Dave Goelz (who is also the Muppet performer behind Gonzo). This is the voice that is still heard in Journey Into Imagination with Figment. A.J. LoCascio first voiced Figment in Disney Speedstorm before taking on the role for this short. Take a look at the short below!

Figment Comes to Life! | How NOT To Draw was expected to be released on March 3, 2026. Instead, it arrived on YouTube on March 1st. It is still expected to arrive on Disney+ on March 5th.
