It’s a fantastic time to be a fan of Pixar’s Turning Red. This year, for the Lunar New Year celebration, Red Panda Mei is meeting with guests for the first time at the Disneyland Resort. While this massive character had previously been seen before in Pixar’s Better Together – A Pixar Pals Celebration parade, Mei Lee had not met with guests in this form before January 23, 2026. This is when the celebration began. The reaction from guests was ecstatic to say the least. Many were lining up in anticipation of her arrival. Below is a look at her arrival for her first scheduled set at the Disneyland Resort.

While this is the first time that guests have been able to meet Red Panda Mei at the Disneyland Resort, they previously were able to meet Mei Lee and her mother Ming Lee during previous year’s Lunar New Year celebrations. They can be seen here:

Red Panda Mei can be found in the Pixar Pier Band Shell throughout the run of the Lunar New Year celebration. Check the Disneyland app for specific times. Also, be prepared for a line. It was noted that at least one set yesterday, the line for the next set was already cut off before Red Panda Mei appeared.

There are also many other offerings to enjoy during the celebration. This includes entertainment, food and beverage offerings, and other activities. There is also a collection of merchandise that will undoubtedly sell quickly. The Year of the Horse celebration will continue until February 22, 2026.
