Today’s post for A Month of Thanksgiving is a little bit different than the other ones that have been posted. However, it is something I’m very thankful to have had the opportunity to eat… more than once. Earlier this year while visiting Tokyo DisneySea, on a whim our group tried a crème brûlée churro that was being offered for a limited time. For those that have hung out at the parks with me, you know I’m not usually into getting a ton of sweets or desserts. However, this churro definitely had me hooked from the first bite.
Here’s how it all played out. There were four of us and as I usually don’t like too many sweets, when churros were brought up, I said I’d share. BIG MISTAKE! I took one bite and immediately realized we would be needing more of these crème brûlée churros. The first one was gone quickly. I say the first one because there were quite a few more that were consumed over the next couple of days in the parks.
What made these churros so good you ask? Well, I actually think it was because they weren’t just pure sugary goodness… which they were all good. Imagine a normal churro with the sugar on the outside being toasted just a bit in the churro machine (oven?). On the inside, the crème had been piped (I assume). This meant it was slightly crunchy on the outside and there was a creamy center. In my humble opinion, it was the perfect churro! Six months later, I’m still thinking about it!
While I may never get this crème brûlée churro ever again, I’m very thankful that I had at least one! I should say, I’m very thankful that I was able to have more than one… in a single day. They were almost worth going to Japan on their own! If the Disneyland Resort ever wanted to bring something over from Tokyo Disney Resort, I’d vote for this! I’m thankful that I had the chance to enjoy these and I’m VERY thankful for whatever person or team came up with them! The amount of joy and satisfaction a simple treat like this can bring can’t be overstated!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Note: For future reference. If you do see crème brûlée churros on sale the proper ratio of churros to people eating said churros is one for each hand.
