California Sole Closes Doors in Downtown Disney District

California Sole has shut its doors for the last time in the Downtown Disney District. The owners of California Sole took to Instagram to bid the Disneyland Resort goodbye. The couple shared that they are pursuing other interests. The final day of operation was on April 29, 2024.

The location, formerly known as Sanuk, opened in July 2020, right during the height of the pandemic. It’s opening was shortly after the reopening of the Downtown Disney District. At the time, owner Wayne Heck explained that the shop was “a California-inspired, full-service footwear store. Most of the brands we carry were born here in beautiful, sunny California and each one has an amazing story to tell. Our staff is very knowledgeable and can share with guests the stories, passion and heart—or “sole”—behind each line of footwear while providing personalized service.”

Here is the post announcing California Sole’s closing:

It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to California Sole Anaheim at the Downtown Disney District.

While we’ve had a great ride and will never forget our loyal customers, it’s time for us to pursue some of our lifelong passions and interests.

We will certainly miss the fun and energy of the Downtown Disney District and want to express what a true pleasure it has been to serve you.

We hope our paths cross again.

With many blessings,

Wayne & Cate Heck
