There are some new lighting effects in the works for Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris later this summer. The new effects are part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of this iconic Discoveryland attraction this year. Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery teams are hard at work developing the new lighting effects for the exterior of Hyperspace Mountain.

Work on this project began almost 2 years ago. Now, things are beginning to take shape as teams work each evening to gradually replace over 640 lights. This project requires over 17 kilometres of cabling. It is also modernizing technical equipment, repainting the roof of the attraction, and adding new technical access points to help with maintenance.
Once the project is finished, the experience will be breathtaking for both passengers aboard Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain and those who view it from Discoveryland as they view the stunning light effects that will be generated every time a vehicle launches. To successfully complete this project, teams also worked with the lighting designer who worked on the original 1995 attraction. The following concept art was shared to show what Hyperspace Mountain will look like when the project is complete:

The new lighting effects promise to enhance this iconic Discoveryland landmark. It will also restore the attraction’s majestic roof to its original splendor.
