On this day in 2010, Pixar Canada, a satellite location of Pixar Animation Studios, opened in Vancouver, British Columbia. The studio was tasked with creating Pixar shorts and TV specials that built on the work of the primary Pixar campus in Emeryville, California. Some of the studio’s projects were ‘Mater’s Tall Tales,’ ‘Small Fry,’ ‘Partysaurus Rex,’ and ‘Tales from Radiator Springs.’ The studio closed in 2013, and the space is now used by Industrial Light & Magic.
