Knott’s Boysenberry Festival has returned to Knott’s Berry Farm. This annual tradition, now in its 10th year, has a plethora of Boysenberry food and beverages throughout the park. It also has a variety of entertainment offerings. On top of all of that, there is a pie-eating competition that is offered on most days during the festival. This is fun to watch but also those who participate could win a Boysenberry pie!
Boysen Bear’s Pie Eating Contest takes place late in the afternoon at the Calico Mine Stage at Knott’s Berry Farm during this festival. Before the contest takes place, guests of all ages (13 and up) are welcome to sign a waiver and submit their name for the chance to be a part of the contest.
At the beginning of the contest, names are drawn out of a basket. These contestants then get the chance to participate in the pie-eating contest. They are fitted with a poncho to protect their clothes and then take place behind the competition table. They aren’t going to eat an entire pie, however! Instead, they have to use their face (and only their face, no hands!) to push as much of the pie out of its tin as possible. At the end of the contest, what is left of the contestants’ pies is shown, and a winner is selected. The winner gets a blue ribbon and a Boysenberry pie!
For many, the pie-eating contest is a highlight of Knott’s Boysenberry Festival! Below is a look at the pie-eating contest from the opening weekend of the 2025 Knott’s Boysenberry Festival.
