Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration kicks off on May 16, 2025! Ahead of the start of this happy event, the Disneyland Resort has been making plenty of announcements about what guests can expect when they experience this milestone celebration. Along with entertainment, interactive MagicBand+ experiences, food, merchandise, a guided tour, and more, there will also be new Magic Shots and Disney PhotoPass lenses for guests to enjoy capturing memories with.
Disney PhotoPass Magic Shots
There will be new Magic Shots from Disney PhotoPass during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. Throughout the 70th celebration, look for Disney PhotoPass cast members to get a photo that has a little extra Disney magic. There will be a series of all-new Magic Shots to be found throughout the Disneyland Resort. One of these Magic Shots is the Mickey and Minnie Magic Shot. This will be available starting on May 16 near the main entrance to Disneyland and also near Sleeping Beauty Castle.
To get these photos, there are a couple of different options. First off, purchase Disney PhotoPass+ One Day. This includes unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos from that day. Guests can also access their photos with the purchase of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass or the Lightning Lane Premiere Pass. This gives access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses and unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads.
Disney PhotoPass Lenses
There will also be multiple Disney PhotoPass Lenses available throughout the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. This will give guests the chance to add a little magic to their photos as they enjoy The Happiest Place on Earth!
Some of the Lenses will only be available in specific areas of the parks. Others will work anywhere around the Resort. Wherever a guest is in the Disneyland Resort, they will be able to interact with a variety of Disney-themed effects to transform themselves and the world around them with added Disney magic. Select Lenses will continue to be available to use for up to 45 days after the last day of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchase.
How to Access Disney PhotoPass Lenses
Once you have Lightning Lane Multi Pass, here’s how to enable special AR (augmented reality) effects on your device’s camera:
1. Make sure you’ve allowed the Disneyland app to access your device’s camera and location.
2. Open the app menu (≡) and select “PhotoPass Lenses”.

- After purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Guests can access many Disney PhotoPass Lenses in the Disneyland app as soon as they enter the park. Select Disney PhotoPass Lenses are accessible only within designated areas of Disneyland Resort. Some Disney PhotoPass Lenses will remain accessible in the Disneyland app until 5:59 AM Pacific Time on the 45th day after using your Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchase; certain states and localities are excluded.
- Many Disney PhotoPass Lenses use technology that detects the coordinates of key points on a Guest’s face and/or hands. These Lenses may be used only by Guests 18 years of age and older, who have consented to use of this technology. Therefore, Guests unable to provide such consent, as well as Guests under 18 years of age will have fewer Lenses available to use.

- Disney PhotoPass Lenses are not included with Disney PhotoPass+ One Day or Disney PhotoPass+ One Week.
