Earl of Sandwich has had a few homes in the Downtown Disney District. Currently, it has two. Soon, it will have a home at the Disneyland Resort, where it will be found for years to come. This is about as permanent as a location can get in a world where things “keep moving forward.” Currently, work is ongoing for the new home for Earl of Sandwich.
On Monday, Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by Downtown Disney District to check out the progress being made on the new Earl of Sandwich Location. While the vertical growth seems to be about the same as in recent weeks, work could be heard going on behind the walls. There was also some equipment that was working on the location as well.

When it is completed, Earl of Sandwich will inhabit a two-story building. This is found in the west end of Downtown Disney District near D-Lander and Avengers Reserve stores. Last year, concept art was shared by Disney showing what the permanent home of Earl of Sandwich looks like.

The first floor of the new Earl of Sandwich will be what fans have known and loved since the restaurant first opened in Downtown Disney District in 2012. This is where guests can get favorite sandwiches like The Original 1762, The Full Montagu, or the Holiday Turkey. There will also be hand-crafted wraps, salads, and sweets on hand as well.

Upstairs will be the home of The Carnaby Tavern. This will offer a table service experience for guests that is inspired by the ’60s “British Invasion” pop and rock bands from the U.K. There will be both indoor seating and patio seating, along with an indoor/outdoor full-service bar.
The current home of Earl of Sandwich, found near the Esplanade on the East end of Downtown Disney District, will be closing sometime in 2025 to make way for Porto’s. Opening dates for the new Earl of Sandwich and Porto’s have not been released yet.
