On this day in 2000, the animated series ‘The Weekenders’ premiered on ABC as part of Disney’s One Saturday Morning lineup. That first episode was entitled “Crush Test Dummies.” ‘The Weekenders’ followed four best friends in middle school. Each episode took place over a single weekend, beginning on Friday, escalating on Saturday, and wrapping up on Sunday, creating a ticking clock effect. ‘The Weekenders’ ran for four seasons and 76 episodes.
