On this day in 1955, the Donald Duck short ‘No Hunting’ debuted. Donald is inspired by his great-grandfather to take up hunting for his food. However, the first day of the season brings an incredibly fierce crowd equipped with tanks and bazookas! The short is a satire of hunting culture and sets up parallels to sporting events. Bambi and his mother make a special cameo appearance. ‘No Hunting’ was nominated for an Oscar for Short Subject – Cartoons. [70 years ago in 2025]
