On this day in 2009, ‘The Princess and the Frog’ was released widely in theaters. The story was based on E.D. Baker’s book, ‘The Frog Princess’, which took inspiration from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, ‘The Frog Prince.’ It would be the second to last 2D hand-drawn animated feature from Disney and Tiana the first African American Disney princess. John Musker and Ron Clements directed the movie, the same team who led ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Aladdin.’ [15 years ago in 2024]
