Just days after resuming the sales of Magic Keys, the Disneyland Resort has once again paused sales. All four types of Magic Keys went on sale on November 6th. As of November 12th, sales had been halted again and the following notice could be found on the Disneyland website:
Please note that we have paused new sales of Magic Key passes. The Magic Key program provides reservation-based admission to one or both Disneyland Resort theme parks. At this time, current Magic Key holders may have the opportunity during their renewal window (currently up to 30 days prior to the pass expiration date) to renew into a pass made available within the program. The quantity of passes and pass types available for renewal may be limited. Passes or a pass type may be unavailable from time to time or at any given time or available only for renewal.
At this time it isn’t known when Magic Key sales will resume. For those wishing to visit the Disneyland Resort this holiday season without a Magic Key, there is currently a Disneyland Holiday Ticket offer that allows guests 3 days of visits to a Disneyland Resort park for the price of 2. Additional Magic Key Details
To visit a Disneyland Resort park with a Magic Key, a park reservation on a day that is available for the level of Magic Key must be obtained. The number of reservations that can be held by a Magic Key holder depends on the type of pass.
The Magic Key reservations are subject to a no-show policy. If a Magic Key holder misses 3 reservations in any 90-day window, they will be unable to make any new park reservations or modify existing park reservations for 30 days. The 30-day period begins the day after the third no-show and will continue even if the pass is upgraded to another pass type or renewed during that time. In other words, a Magic Key holder can’t simply buy their way out of the 90-day window. A Magic Key holder who enters either park at any time before closing on the day of the reservation is not considered a no-show. Currently, cancellation or modification of a reservation must be done by 11:59 PM PT on the day before the reserved date.
Magic Keys do allow for park hopping after 11:00 AM daily at this time. After 11:00 AM, Magic Key holders are also able to enter either park at the Disneyland Resort regardless of which park their reservation has them starting at. A park reservation is still required, however, for one of the two parks.
