On this day in 2009, ‘Disney’s A Christmas Carol’ opened in U.S. theaters. This adaptation of the classic ‘Christmas Carol’ story was Disney’s third version after ‘Mickey’s Christmas Carol’ and ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol.’ The film starred Jim Carrey, who voiced all ages of Scrooge as well as all three Ghosts of Christmas. The 3-D animation was produced using motion capture, a method director Robert Zemeckis used on ‘The Polar Express’ and ‘Beowulf.’ [15 years ago in 2024]
