’Star Trek: Section 31’ Movie Release Date Revealed at New York Comic Con

The release date for the next Star Trek film was revealed this weekend at New York Comic Con. The film is Star Trek: 31. Starring Michelle Yeoh, it will be released on the Paramount+ streaming service on Friday, January 24. It will be exclusive to Paramount+ in the United States and international services where the streaming service is available.

The announcement was made during the Star Trek panel at New York Comic Con. It was moderated by Vladimir Duthiers, host of CBS Mornings and also a CBS News national correspondent. Throughout the panel, there were conversations with Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl, and Robert Krazinsky. Executive producer and director Olatunde Osunanmi also joined the conversation. There was also a video appearance from the film’s main star and Oscar winner, Michelle Yeoh.

About Section 31

In the movie, Yeoh reprises her fan-favorite role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou — a character she played in Star Trek: Discovery‘s first season – who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.

Star Trek: Section 31 also stars Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rohl (Hannibal), Emmy winner Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry). Miku Martineau (Kate) portrays a young Philippa Georgiou.
