There may be no new tunes on this old piano but the old orchestrion? Well, that’s another story. The orchestrion in Frontierland is playing what appears to be new tunes this Halloween season.
The Nelson-Wiggen Piano Company built this instrument. For quite some time, it was found in the Main Street Train Station on Main Street, USA. However, several years ago it was moved to Frontierland and placed in the Silver Spur Supplies store. This is where it can be found today.
This orchestrion has added at least one new tune (at least to the Daps Magic team) for this year for Halloween. The theme from the hit Broadway musical, The Phantom of the Opera, is now being performed by the orchestrion. Check out this performance here:
Another song that can be heard on the Orchestrion is the theme from The Adams Family. Also appropriate for the Halloween season, it can be heard here:
This Nelson-Wiggen Orchestrion is around 100 years old. It was built in Chicago. While not completely sure about this, the Daps Magic team believes that this is a Nelson-Wiggen Cabinet Piano Orchestra Style 6X. If accurate, it was built in 1926. Below are other videos taken of the Orchestrion during Halloween Time previously.
