On this day in 2008, Pleasure Island at the Walt Disney World Resort had its last day of operation. The crowd was at capacity, with many lining up as early as 9 AM for the evening’s events. The popular nightclubs, including The Adventurers Club and Mannequins Dance Palace, hosted their final guests. The nightly New Year’s Eve countdown was held one more time, complete with fireworks. The area is now known as The Landing at Disney Springs.
