Disney+ Wins 9 Creative Arts Emmys

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held this past weekend. The Creative Arts Emmys honor the best in artistic and technical achievement in American prime-time television programming, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Walt Disney Company, specifically Disney+, took home 9 Creative Arts Emmys, including 5 for Jim Henson Idea Man.

Jim Henson Idea Man

Jim Henson Idea Man took home awards for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special, Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Underscore), Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program, Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program, and Motion Design.

Ahsoka

Star Wars Ahsoka won the Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes. The specific award was for the episode titled “Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord.” The award winners were Shawna Trpcic, Elissa Alcala, and Devon Patterson.

NatGeo won the Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Narrator for Queens. Angela Bassett is the series narrator. The show won for the episode titled African Queens.

The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys documentary won a Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program. Gary A. Rizzo, John Rampey, Sabi Tulok, and Dennis Hamlin were nominated for this award.

The NatGeo series Life Below Zero was also a Creative Arts Emmy Winner for Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program. The episode that was nominated and won the award was “Bulletproof.” Charlie Beck, Michael Cheeseman, Danny Day, and Pedro Delbrey were the winners of this award.
