During D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last weekend, there was a lot of news about what it coming to Disney parks around the globe. One segment of Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase focused on new Marvel offerings coming to the Disney theme parks. This includes a new attraction at Shanghai Disneyland and an expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure in California. Over at Hong Kong Disneyland, the Stark Expo will be getting expanded. With this expansion will come a new Spider-Man attraction.
Concept art for this new Spider-Man attraction was revealed during the parks panel. It shows Spider-Man holding a ride vehicle that looks very similar to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disneyland Resort or the Tower of Terror at Walt Disney World Resort. He appears to be facing off against Doc Octopus. Disney described this new ride in the following way:
To ensure a better and brighter future for all mankind and the world, the most brilliant minds from the Avengers are working together and bringing new pavilions to the Stark Expo to showcase their most recent inventions and technologies. Peter Parker (a.k.a Spider-Man), the newest Stark Industries intern, is among one of them and will also be the host to demonstrate the latest breakthrough. Undoubtedly, the presence of Spider-Man will also attract one of the most formidable villains, who wreaks havoc at the scene. Peter will need all the help he can get to protect his brand-new technology while saving guests caught in the middle of the showdown.
This attraction will be the third pavilion at the Stark Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland’s Tomorrowland. This addition to Tomorrowland expands Marvel’s footprint in the park. It will include new entertainment, shopping, and dining offerings. It promises to continue to expand the epicenter of the Marvel Super Heroes at Hong Kong Disneyland. This also promises to attract fans from around the world to unite and fight against various villains that come from different stories throughout the Marvel Universe.
The Marvel saga at Hong Kong Disneyland all started with Tony Start (Iron Man) decided to have the Stark Industries Asia headquarters in Hong Kong. This led to Hong Kong Disneyland becoming the home of the Stark Expo. This showcases the largest and latest tech from Stark Industries. Currently, guests can enjoy the popular Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! at Hong Kong Disneyland. There are also seasonal offerings that include a rich lineup of Marvel Super Heroes, the Avengers Deployment Vehicle, and also a Marvel-inspired drone show.
