On this day in 2010, the Disney Magic cruise ship rescued 18 people who were lost at sea. On its way from Gibraltar to Barcelona, Spain, the Disney Magic received an SOS call. Another ship in the area heard screams and put out the alert. A small boat lost power at least four days earlier, stranding 18 passengers. A rescue operation was launched immediately, and all of the marooned travelers were brought onboard the cruise ship for food and medical treatment.
