On this day in 1914, expert costumer Chuck Keehne was born. Although you may not know his name, you know his work from ‘Mary Poppins,’ ‘Pollyanna,’ ‘Zorro,’ Bedknobs and Broomsticks,’ and ‘The Love Bug,’ among many other classic films between 1955 and 1979. He was even responsible for designing the iconic Mickey Mouse ear hats for ‘The Mickey Mouse Club!’ Disney had no wardrobe department until 1955, when Keehne was promoted to be its chief.
