On this day in 1989, ‘Turner & Hooch’ was released by Touchstone Pictures. It starred Tom Hanks as the fastidious small town detective, Scott Turner. Scott yearns for life in the big city, but his plans are dashed when his friend Amos is murdered. Scott agrees to take Amos’s French mastiff, Hooch, when he realizes the dog can help him solve the case. Destruction and chaos ensue! The script cost $1 million, the most Touchstone had paid up to that time! [35 years ago in 2024]
