Former Disney Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy has a new gig. After leaving The Walt Disney Company in 2023, McCarthy has now joined the Board of Directors for the online gambling company called Flutter Entertainment.
Flutter Entertainment has multiple brands in its stable. They include FanDuel, Paddy Power, PokerStars, Sky Betting & Gaming, Sisal and Sportsbet. The company also added Robert Bennett, former director at Warner Bros. Discovery, to its board.
Both Bennett and McCarthy will also be on committees as part of their roles as board members. McCarthy will be on the audit committee. Bennett will be on the sustainability committee. Both will be joining the board on July 30, 2024. Together, they bring more experience from the entertainment industry to the online sports betting company.
“Christine and Dob’s extensive experience in the entertainment industry will be an invaluable asset to Flutter as we continue to extend our leading position as a global online sports betting and iGaming provider,” said John Bryant, Chair of the Flutter Board. “We look forward to welcoming both Dob and Christine to the Board as non-executive directors and benefitting from their unique perspective and industry knowledge.”
McCarthy joined The Walt Disney Company in 2000 as Senior Vice President and Treasurer. During her tenure at Disney, she also served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Real Estate, Alliances and Treasure, before she became the CFO at the company. During her tenure at Disney, she held multiple leadership positions including most recently being a Strategic Advisor. She currently is a director of The Proctor & Gamble Company and also is the Chair of its Audit Committee. She also is a director of FM Global and the Chair of its Finance Committee as well.
