Disney Legend Andreas Deja has released a new music video with the song Mushka’s Lullaby on his brand new YouTube channel. The song was one of the final compositions of Disney Legend Richard Sherman. Sherman also wrote music with his brother for Disney classics like Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book. Sherman wrote Mushka’s Lullaby after a conversation with Deja about this new short film.
Mushka’s Lullaby
Mushka’s Lullaby is featured in the closing credits of Mushka, Deja’s directorial debut short. It is song by the versatile vocalist Holly Sedillos. It is beautiful and haunting. Noted composer Fabrizio Mancinelli created and arranged the score, for which this song is a part of. Sedillos is accompanied by a 60 piece orchestra at the Synchron Stage in Vienna. The music video for the song shows scenes from the film, Sedillos singing, and the orchestra playing as well. It was created and edited by Mushka editor and co-producer, Roger Viloria.
“I’m thrilled to showcase the beautiful Mushka’s Lullaby song with a celebration of the legacy of one of the world’s greatest songwriters, my friend Richard M. Sherman,” said Deja. “I’m beyond grateful to our amazing team on Mushka. We’re all so lucky to have had Richard contribute Mushka’s Lullaby to our film.”

About Mushka
Mushka tells the story of a young Ukrainian girl named Sarah who discovers and orphaned baby Siberian tiger. She realizes that she must either raise him or leave him to the snowy perils of the wild. The word Mushka is a Russian term of endearment, like sweetheart. This beautiful story features new characters that are full of personality in a “story brimming with excitement, humor and emotion.” It took almost a decade for Andreas Deja and his team to bring this film to life. The process was a labor of love that required dedication, experimentation, and creativity. Mushka’s Lullaby is a part of the film’s soundtrack album. The full original score is available digitally from Lakeshore Records.
Mushka had its world premiere at The San Francisco International Film Festival and then its European premiere at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film in 2023. Since then, it has been screend around the world. It also has won multiple awards including Best Animation at the San Jose International Short Film Festival and the Kids Choice Award/Best Animation Award at Palm Springs International Short Fest.
