August 8, 2024, is D23 at Disneyland Resort. This comes just a day ahead of the full D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event begins its presentations, panels, and many other offerings at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center. Ahead of this magical day, details have been revealed for the different offerings that guests will be able to experience throughout the day. These will be available for both D23 members and day guests at the Disneyland Resort. Let’s take a look below at the variety of offerings that will be available for those who have a valid ticket and reservation on D23 Day at Disneyland Resort.
D23 Mickey Ears
Starting when the parks open, there will be a limited quantity of complimentary Mickey Mouse ears that will feature the D23 Day at Disneyland Resort logo. They will be handed out to guests entering Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on the day as part of the celebration of this special event. It should be noted that these will be limited to one per-ticketed guest and will only be while supplies last. Embroidery is not available for the D23 Day Mickey Mouse ears.
D23 Cavalcade
A special cavalcade will be offered at Disneyland for D23 Day at Disneyland Resort. This will include 23 characters, Disney legends, and the Disneyland Band. This cavalcade will begin at 12:15 PM. This is generally when the march along happens at Sleeping Beauty Castle to Town Square with the Disneyland Band and Disney friends.
Special Character Meet and Greets
There will be some limited-time special character meet and greets offered as well. This includes Max and Goofy from Goof Troop in Mickey’s Toontown and Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear from Pixar’s Toy Story 3 at Pixar Pier.
Tomorrowland Terrace Entertainment
Tomorrowland Terrace will be the place to get your groove on during the day and night during D23 Day at Disneyland Resort. From 1:00 to 6:00 PM, dance with Stitch and other Disney friends during a dance party at the location. In the evening, Suburban Legends will bring the night to life with sets at various times between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
Merchandise
The Disney animated film Tarzan is celebrating its 25th anniversary. On August 8th, a new line of merchandise will be released to help celebrate this milestone. For a limited time, the Tarzan collection will be found at Disneyana at Disneyland, Off the Page at Disney California Adventure, and also at WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District.
There will also be some limited-time merchandise that celebrates D23 Day at Disneyland Resort found throughout the resort.
For those who like to collect medallions, from August 8 through 11, there will be four new medallions featuring the D23 Day at Disneyland Resort logo on one side and Disneyland Resort on the other. The medallions will be available to purchase at:
- Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen – Disneyland
- Kingswell Shop – Disney California Adventure
- Near the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and lawn – Downtown Disney District
Making Memories
There will be opportunities to bring photo memories of D23 Day at Disneyland Resort home. Throughout the day, all park guests with valid park admission and reservations for August 8, 2024, will receive complimentary unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken throughout the day. There will also be a special Magic Shot that can be found as well that day.
There will also be some unique photo locations and illusion art installations found at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney District. On top of that, there will be a collectible commemorative guide that has 23 recommended activities and details to discover.
Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party
The Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party will be hosted over at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney District on August 8th as well. This will be a celebration of favorite Disney Jr. characters and series. More about this special offering can be found here.
Downtown Disney District
Throughout the week, there will be discounts and other offerings to be enjoyed in the Downtown Disney District by D23 members. Select locations in the Downtown Disney District will have special offers for guests who present their D23 Event badge or D23 Membership card. Don’t have a D23 members? No problem! Simply head on over to D23.com to register as a member for free! There will be events from August 4 through 11 in Downtown Disney District as well. This includes happy hour events at Naples Ristorante e Bar on August 9 and August 10, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. More information and booking details can be found here.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event
D23 Day at Disneyland Resort will be happening ahead of the festivities at Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center. During this weekend which is dedicated to Disney fans, there will be plenty of announcements shared about the Disney parks and beyond! On Saturday night, the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase will give a glimpse into the future of what will be coming to the Disneyland Resort and parks, resorts, and more that are a part of the Disney Experiences segments of The Walt Disney Company. Hosted by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, this will be held on August 10 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Honda Center.
