VIDEO: Pie Eating Contest Returns to Knott’s Boysenberry Festival

An annual tradition for the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival has returned and it is one you don’t want to miss! The Pie Eating Contest, on the Calico Mine Stage, is a hilarious tradition that is worth stopping by to see. On the opening weekend of the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, it was offered at 4:00 PM. This came after multiple other games and activities were offered throughout the day.

The Pie Eating Contest allows for six lucky contestants, who are drawn randomly out of a basket, to go up on the stage and participate. Before the show, people young and old can register for the chance to have their name drawn out. Once on stage, they are given much-needed ponchos and take their place at a long table before the pies are brought out. The contest itself is all about getting as much pie out of the pie tin… not necessarily eating it. This can lead to some interesting strategies by pie eaters. It also can be very funny to watch.  The winner of the Pie Eating Contest won a free Boysenberry Pie that they could pick up on the way home along with a blue ribbon. He graciously showed off his winnings to Daps Magic.

The 2024 Knott’s Boysenberry Festival began on March 8th and will be running on select days through April 28. This is the most delicious festival of the year at Knott’s Berry Farm and is full of delightful boysenberry dishes, entertainment, merchandise, and a whole lot more! It is a festival that really shouldn’t be missed at Knott’s Berry Farm! This year also sees the reimagined Knott’s Hotel welcoming guests. It looks great.
