The Walt Disney Company To Webcast Annual Shareholder Meeting

The Walt Disney Company will be webcasting its annual shareholder meeting on April 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM PT. The meeting will include comments by Disney CEO Bob Iger and other leaders from the company. It will also mark the end of the current proxy fight that Disney has predominantly with Nelson Peltz and his Trian Group. Peltz is pushing for a spot on the board for himself and also former Disney executive Jay Rasulo.

The annual shareholder meeting comes as Disney’s Experiences segment continues to perform strongly. Disney+ has also integrated Hulu for those who have the Disney Bundle. Along with other changes, Disney stock has been much stronger than the first shareholder meeting after Bob Iger left retirement to run the company again. It remains to be seen if these things will be enough to get Disney’s board nominees elected or if shareholders will want to go a different direction.

The annual shareholder meeting will be found at disney.com/investors. Daps Magic will be live-blogging this event. The announcement for it can be found here:

In previous years, the question and answer portion of the annual shareholder meeting could be quite interesting. Some of it was quite substantive, and some of it could be humorous. This was all based on the questions that were asked. Since moving to a virtual model, there have been fewer questions that are out of left field and humorous. However, the meeting is still very interesting to follow.
