This week, the Disneyland Resort held the first Disneyland After Dark: Disney Channel Nite! We were lucky enough to attend and had such a great time experiencing all there was to offer. I wanted to give my personal breakdown of the top five offerings of the event!
5. High School Musical Zombies Pep Rally
This cavalcade came to life twice along the parade route with designated stops. While I know High School Musical much more than the Zombies franchise, I still had so much fun watching this high-energy dance party. This show features live vocalists and dancers that represent both movie series.
Everyone dances and sings to songs from Zombies and High School Musical and it was so fun to watch the crowd during this! Be sure to check out the full video of this show on our YouTube channel and let us know what you think!
4. Camp Rock Karaoke
Inside The Golden Horseshoe lies one of the most energetic parties of the whole evening! This event is hosted by a DJ who can play your song request for karaoke. You may think that since it is an event at Disneyland, you will only find Disney music on the request list. This couldn’t be farther from the truth! The request list has everything from pop hits to show tunes! Of course, you will find Disney favorites on the list as well.
The energy in this room is insane. It is wall-to-wall guests all singing and dancing along to music that they love. One of my favorite points of the evening was when all the guests joined in on the ballad The Climb from The Hannah Montana movie. You could hear just how excited everyone was to be hearing this song in Disneyland with the combined joy of getting to sing along with other guests. This is a can’t-miss event during the party.
3. Phineas and Ferb Dance Party
As someone who loved Phineas and Ferb’s Rockin’ Rollin’ Dance Party, this dance party felt like a sequel. It featured some of the same music and dance moves while bringing together characters we love! Again, this is one where the audience makes it. It was so fun to watch everyone sing and dance along with their friends to music from the series as well as pop hits.
The show featured Phineas, Ferb, Agent P, and a DJ inspired by evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz. To be honest, I’m normally not a fan of the dance parties. This is one I found myself going to time and time again because it was just so much fun.
2. Photo Opportunities
Who doesn’t want the chance to do the Disney Channel wand ID? You know, take your glowsticks and tell the world “You’re watching Disney Channel!”. This is just one photo opportunity throughout the night that will give you the chance to step into your childhood dreams.
There are also backdrops for some of your favorite original series and DCOMs, like Cheetah Girls, Lizzie McGuire, and The Proud Family. These backdrops typically didn’t have too long of a line and were so much fun to take photos of or with. Even better, I loved watching guests with corresponding outfits have a full photoshoot!
1. Characters
Of course, it’s Disney. There are going to be incredible characters! Some of my favorites of the evening were Experiment 010 (Felix), Experiment 627, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their East High Costumes!
One of the most popular meets of the evening were Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable in Adventureland! It was so fun to see characters we hadn’t seen in years come to life in front of our eyes. This is one of the things that sets Disney apart and makes these events so unique and fun.
Overall, guests at this event made it memorable and incredible! Whether it was costumes, singing and dancing, or bringing the energy to the shows, this is truly what set this event apart. I can only hope we see more dates and more offerings for this event next year because it will be one I would love to attend again and again!
