The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building has begun filming. Photos were posted on Instagram by co-creator Steve Martin and also the official handle for the series. They showed the main trio of the cast sitting together on the first day of filming. Steve Martin’s post said, “First day of school at OMITB. What fun to be back for season 4!” It included the following photo:

A release date for the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building has not been announced yet. However, there have been a few details shared about what will be coming along with some of the guest cast members for the season. Season 4 has already announced that Meryl Streep, Molly Shannon, Eva Longoria, and Eugene Levy will be appearing.
The season will find the trio of main characters making their way to Los Angeles. Presumably they will be returning to New York City and The Arconia to figure out who murdered Charles-Haden Savage’s (Steve Martin) stunt double Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) from his days on Brazzos, which had also recently had a revival.
At the end of season three, Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep) was offered a job in Los Angeles and Mabel Mora’s (Selena Gomez) boyfriend also was heading out West. With Martin Short’s Oliver Putnum dating Durkin, Mabel’s love interest both being in Los Angeles, and Charles at risk of being murdered potentially, Los Angeles might make for a good destination for the trio. What the real reasoning for Los Angeles will be found out when the next season arrives though. How this growing roster of guest stars fits into this equation also remains to be seen.
Only Murders in the Building was created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. They co-executive produce the series with Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. A timeline for when season four of the series will go into production or be released on Hulu has not been shared at this time.
