Last week, we were given the opportunity to visit Knott’s Berry Farm for their seasonal celebration of the holidays. We got a chance to eat great food, see some absolutely phenomenal entertainment, and spend time with our loved ones. This is a review of our top experiences and things you should not miss when you head to Knott’s Merry Farm this holiday season!
Decor
Knott’s Berry Farm turns into the magic of Merry Farm with some amazing holiday decorations around the park. As the night draws closer, the park will hold a parkwide holiday lighting moment that will kick off the lights and trees! To see the Christmas tree, be sure to near the center of Calico, as the tree acts as a focal point for all of the holiday beauty and wonder.
Personally, nothing beats a stroll around Camp Snoopy after dark. The lights are simply stunning and there is fun decorations all over the place. I was able to take my mom on her first visit to Knott’s Merry Farm and this was her biggest takeaway of the evening. She loved the charm of Camp Snoopy and the way they were able to tranform the land into its own winter wonderland. Of course, we can’t forget the silly penguin photo ops around area. These have been in the area for a few years now and they are always such fun to see!
Entertainment

- Home for the Holidays – Calico Mine Stage
- A Calico Christmas Carol- Bird Cage Theater
- The Gift of the Magi, 1885 – Bird Cage Theater
- Snow and Glow – Ghost Town
- Parkwide Holiday Lighting Moment
The entertainment at Knott’s Merry Farm is top notch. To me, the “can’t miss” events are Home for the Holidays and Snoop’s Night Before Christmas: Ice Show. The ice show is such fun for the whole family and is a celebration of the holidays with your favorite Peanuts characters. I absolutely love to see Snoopy ice skate to Christmas favorite songs. There were even special surprises throughout that kept me on the edge of my seat.
Home for the Holidays spreads magic as the sun goes down on Calico. As the Winter weather creeps in, this feels like you’re spending your own White Christmas with this local family! The show celebrates a family on Christmas Eve as they welcome over some loved ones. This musical will leave you feeling the warm fuzzies of the holidays and is the perfect end to the evening at Knott’s Merry Farm!

This holiday season, there is so much to celebrate with food! Opening day of Knott’s Merry Farm saw long lines for food and I even overheard guests say they had been waiting all year for these meals! Personally, I saw a Turkey Sandwich with all the trimmings at Boardwalk BBQ and was blown away by how delicious it looked. Who doesn’t love turkey, cranberry, and gravy with some mashed potatoes on the side?!
Other items not to miss include Christmas cocktails, apple funnel cake, and tamale fries to make a truly delicious visit to Knott’s Merry Farm.
I could not reccomend this experience enough! Just writing this article made me want to take a trip back just to revisit all the fun we had for opening weekend of this festive event. If you’re heading out to Knott’s Merry Farm this holiday season, or if you already have, be sure to tell us what your favorite part is!
