Through Monday, October 30, 2023, collectors of rare artwork, apparel, and experiences can bid on 100 exclusive items inspired by the unique storytelling of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and 20th Century Studios. Each item for the Disney Create 100 auction was donated by a notable creator or visionary in the fields of fashion, film, music, and art. Notable donors include Beyoncé, Christian Louboutin, Lang Lang, Marc Jacobs, and Tommy Hilfiger, to name just a few. The pieces represent each person’s personal connection to stories and characters that make up the last 100 years of Disney storytelling.
As if the auction were not extraordinary enough already, it also comes with a worthy purpose. All proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish®. Disney and Make-A-Wish® have partnered together since 1980 to grant wishes to over 150,000 critically ill children across the world. At the time when they need it most, Make-A-Wish® provides the positive outlook and hope that many families need to persevere through difficult diagnoses, treatments, and recoveries. To learn more about Make-A-Wish International visit www.worldwish.org or Make-A-Wish America visit www.wish.org.
The Disney Create 100 campaign kicked off in July when a 6-foot structural sculpture of Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey was revealed by Virgil Abloh Securities at the Royal College of Art in London. Disney commissioned the life-size piece titled ‘Structural Sorcerer — a Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Sculpture’ and ALASKA ALASKA was the designer.
Not to be left out, Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios), Jennifer Lee (Walt Disney Animation Studios), Jon Landau (Lightstorm Entertainment) and Pete Docter (Pixar Animation Studios) have also contributed items or experiences to the cause that are inspired by their respective studios, movies, and stories.
