Welcome back to the Disneyland Resort Refurbishment Report. It’s crazy how fast things change even days after you share something.
That happened almost immediately with Space Mountain. That’s where we start this week’s report. Scaffolding and scrims went up around the top level of the Space Mountain outside queue. Refurbishment signs are still placed around various areas around Space Mountain.
Another refurbishment is happening in Tomorrowland. The Disney Vacation Club kiosk is behind walls. No word on when that area will reopen.
From Tomorrowland, we head to Mickey’s Toontown for an update on the work being done at CenTOONial Park. Some fun signs were even placed on the walls around the Park.
Now it’s time to head toward Fantasy Faire and check out what’s being done there. Painted scrims were up recently, and those have now come down to reveal the work that was done to freshen up the exterior. Walls are still up around this area. No word on when the walls will come down.
After Fantasy Faire, we head over towards the Rivers of America and Fowler’s Harbor. So much work has been taking place around the Mark Twain Riverboat, which is now in dry dock. Scaffolding has been placed around the Mark Twain. Some of the tables and chairs that were placed on the walkway near the Rivers of America have been moved to the area near the seating area for Harbor Galley, with additional tables placed along the walkway leading into Critter Country.
Speaking of Critter Country, work continues on the transformation of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
We now make a quick visit to Disney California Adventure to check out work being done on Schmoozies and Golden Zephyr. Golden Zephyr will reopen on September 29, while Schmoozies is scheduled to reopen on October 2nd. One fun fact is that Schmoozies normally has Halloween-themed shakes but since they have been closed for a good part of Halloween Time, will the shakes be offered once the location reopens? We will have to wait and see.
Well, things continue to progress at the Disneyland Resort with some refurbishments continuing and some ending very soon. More updates coming next week.
