The Walt Disney World Resort is already preparing to welcome guests in 2024. As people begin planning their trips to Walt Disney World 2024, five new announcements should make for a more effortless and magical visit for guests. This includes the return of Disney Dining Plans and a new offering called good-to-go days for Annual Passholders and cast members. Below is a look at what is being offered in 2024 from Disney:
Removal of Date-Based Ticket Reservations
Reservations will no longer be needed on tickets that are date-based. This will begin on tickets starting on January 9, 2024. This will enable guests to simply purchase a date-based ticket and be good to go! This may not apply for other admission types which may still need reservations. Good-to-Go Days for Annual Passholders and Cast Members
In 2024 good-to-go days for Annual Passholders* and cast members will be introduced at Walt Disney World Resort. These will be special days that will allow Annual Passholders and Disney cast members to visit the Walt Disney World Resort parks without a reservation. These dates will be in addition to the already implemented policy that allows for Annual Passholders to enter the parks after 2:00 PM without a reservation. The caveat with this policy is Saturdays and Sundays at the Magic Kingdom, still require a reservation on those days. Good-to-go days may vary by park, and pass block-out dates and capacity limitations continue to apply. More details about good-to-go days will be released at a later date.
Disney Dining Plans
The popular Disney Dining Plans are returning for guests booking vacations at Disney Resort hotels starting on January 9, 2024. This will be opening for bookings on May 31, 2023. Guests will have two options to choose from for the Disney Dining Plans. This will be the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan. Both plans are a good value for families, particularly with young children, and allow access to many food and beverage offerings around Walt Disney World Resort. Extra Magic Hours
Another offering that is continuing for those staying at Disney Resort hotel is the offering of early theme park entry for visits through 24. This will be offered every day for all four theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort. For those who are staying at Disney Deluxe Resort and Deluxe Villas, Disney will be continuing to offer extended evening hours on select nights through 2024. To experience early theme park entry and/or extended evening hours, guests will need valid theme park admission and also a Resort ID.
Simplified Disney Genie+
Disney continues to tweak the Genie+ experience. Moving forward in 2024, selections for Disney Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane will be available before the day of a park visit. Disney is currently on making this happen for guests visiting next year. Specifics have not been released yet but will be coming at a later date.
